National Technical Information Service (NTIS)
Also part of the DOC, but under a different administrative division than the Bureau of Census, the National Technical Information Service (NTIS) is the goveminent research clearinghouse and gathers the information for the publishing of Market Share Reports and Country Market Surveys. The NTIS is responsible for coordinating complete or partial publishing in as many as 70 to 80 publications and organization newsletters around the country of the TOP leads, led by the Journal of Commerce. For more information call the Economic Bulletin Board (see Appendix M). While most of their data may be accessed through the DOC District Office, they may be contacted directly concerning further research details at: National Technical Information Service, U.S. Department of Commerce, Springfield, VA 22161, (703) 487-4650.
