Fundamentals of Data Analysis - Presenting the Results

Eventually the researcher must develop some conclusions from the data analysis and present the results. The presentation, whether oral, written, or both, can be critical to the ultimate ability of the research to influence decisions. We will address this in Chapter 16, where we provide several guidelines that will lead to effective presentations and where we also offer some special tips for making oral presentations.

Packing list The packing list is an extremely important document because, aside from your customer's requirements, it is often used by customs officials on both sides to check and verify a shipment, and should, therefore, contain complete details of the shipment. With the packing list, the merchandise can be physically located by individual carton or container. This is a document many consider optional in domestic transactions; however, in international trade it is an absolute necessity for customs clearance procedures, especially if the shipment consists of two or more packing units. Factor Analysis - Factor Rotation Factor analysis is complicated somewhat (or made more interesting, depending on your perspective) by the fact that it is possible to generate several factor analysis solutions (loadings and factor scores) for any data set. Each solution is termed a particular factor rotation and is generated by a factor rotation scheme. Each time the factors are rotated the pattern of loadings changes, as does the interpretation of the factors. Geometrically, rotation means simply that the dimensions are rotated.
