Other government publications from the GPO
Although not part of DOC, the GPO prints for DOC and many other organizations besides ITA, offering publications of immediate interest to exporters. They may be contacted by writing to the Superintendent of Documents, Washington, DC 20402, or by telephoning (202) 783-3238. The GPO will provide two free catalogs: U.S. Government Books, listing more than 1000 best selling titles and Government Subscriptions, a catalog of government periodicals. Publications of interest for the exporter include:
• A Basic Guide to Exporting
• Exporter's Guide to Federal Resources for Small Business
• Standard Industrial Classification Manual
• The Export Trading Company Guidebook
• U.S. Export Administration Manual
• Commerce Business Daily: A daily newspaper listing government procurement invitations and foreign business opportunities through the multilateral development banks. (See Exporters-sources.com - index page - 13.)
• World Fact book: A factbook that lists country-by-country data and maps and organization charts prepared by the CIA.
• Monthly Exports and Imports: A monthly publication that lists SITC Commodity by Country (FT925). (See Exporters-sources.com - index page - 7.)
• Background Notes: A publication that offers background on countries from the Department of State.
• The Diplomatic List and Foreign Consular Offices in the U.S.
• Key Officers of Foreign Service Posts.

The insurance portion is tailored alongOPIC's typical insurance approach to cover losses of the insured lessor because of currency inconvertibility expropriation, or political violence. KEY ISSUES IN FOREIGN-EXCHANGE RISK MANAGEMENT To protect assets adequately against risks from exchange-rate fluctuations, it is important for management to (1) define and measure exposure, (2) organize and implement a reporting system that monitors exposure and exchange-rate movements, (3) adopt a policy on assigning responsibility for hedging exposure, and (4) formulate a strategy for hedging exposure. Measurement Most MNEs will be subject to all three types of exposure described above. In order to develop a viable hedging strategy, the firm must be able to forecast the degree of exposure in each major currency in which it operates.
